Principal's Profile

Manuela Paparella, principal of MP DESIGN, studied architecture at the University of California, Berkeley where she received a Bachelor Degree with distinction in Interior Architecture and Interior Design.  She also holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland which she received prior to her architecture degree.

As a Swiss born Italian Designer, Manuela has a unique background and combination of talents. Raised in Switzerland, she spend her early childhood years in Italy. She also lived for a short time in Spain where her parents reside. She has been living in the Bay Area since the early 1990s.

She brings an exceptional blend of European and American style and ethnic influences to her projects.  Extensive world travel and cultural understanding give her design work an added dimension.  Last by not least importantly, based on her extensive business background, she not only can assist you with design decisions, but also help you, for instance, with budgeting for your project. And if English is not your primary language, maybe she can help you in Italian, German, Spanish or French.

She has been practicing as a professional designer since 1997. During this period, she has worked on numerous residential as well as commercial projects.
