Drawers vs. Doors
When it comes to kitchen remodels, we typically will recommend drawers instead of doors. Especially for elderly clients who may not be able to kneel down to look in the back of a cabinet with doors and shelves. If a client still prefers doors, we recommend adding pullout shelves.

There are many different drawer configurations.

Small + Heavy  Appliance Storage

Heavy Appliance Storage

When dealing with heavy appliances such as mixers and blenders, we often suggest a pullout shelf in the island, or an appliance garage, essentially tucking away the heavy stuff, but keeping it within easy reach.  A good rule: Make it a little wider than you think you need, so everything slides in and out smoothly.

And a microwave can be located close to the refrigerator which is a safter location than above the range. Like on a shelf or undercounter (drawer microwave). Undercounter MW

Pantry
In a busy kitchen with enough room, recommend a walk-in pantry to keep clutter at bay and dry goods organized.

It’s perfect for large families or those who love to cook or entertain, providing ample space for groceries, cookware and small appliances. For smaller spaces, we recommend corner pantries or tall pullout shelves.

Coffee Stations + Wetbars
A dedicated coffee bar not only streamlines the morning routine, it also enhances the overall kitchen aesthetic. Typically, I’ll design it away from the main cooking and cleaning areas of the kitchen, and sometimes I’ll add a little seating.Coffee Bar

This area also lends itself well to combining a Coffee Bar with a Wetbar.

Charging Drawer
With tech becoming more popular in kitchens, a docking drawer is one of the items. It is essentially a set of outlets, including USB ports installed in the back of a dedicated drawer. This allows for cord management so the device cords do not get tangled with other cords.
